LYRICS

A stack of printed song lyrics and handwritten music notes scattered on a surface.

Big Kid

In response to the classic kid statement “I can do it, I can do it,” “Big Kid” looks at all the things kids can do once they reach a certain age. The song focuses on both the morning and bedtime routine. The irony will be that Gubba, the adult, can’t actually pull off any of these tasks.

I’m wide awake, Teddy’s snoring. (TEDDY: Zzzzz)

Kick off the blanket, Teddy it’s morning. (TEDDY: I’m gonna need five more minutes buddy)

Want some food, super hungry. (TEDDY: Well I could eat)

Head to the kitchen, fill the tummy. (TEDDY: Ok, I’m up)

’Cos I, I am not, not just a little kid anymore.

I can fetch the milk, get cereal, pick a spoon from the drawer.

I eat all the food, clean the mess, maybe help myself to more.

I am old enough, I’m a big kid now.

Tummies full, but Teddy’s chilly. (TEDDY: Brrr, where’s my blanket)

Run around, act a little silly. (TEDDY: It might warm me up a little bit)

Find a coat, bit it’s too frilly. (TEDDY: What’s wrong with the frills)

Sort it out, Teddy Really? (TEDDY: Well, don’t hate on the drip)

’Cos I, I am not, not just a little kid anymore.

I can get my clothes, dress myself, stand ready by the door.

I put on my socks, then my shoes, tie the laces in a bow,

I am old enough, I’m a big kid now.

(TEDDY: Well I swear you look a little bigger buddy, in fact, it’s making me want to sing a little something. Hold on.)

(TEDDY SINGING: Look here, I’m not so little,

I can do it all by myself.

Come on Buddy, let’s make it happen,654

We’re gonna show everybody else.

Well that’s right!)

’Cos we, we are not, not just little kids anymore.

We can brush our teeth, wash our face, get PJ’s from the drawer.

We can do lots of things, just you watch: handstand against the wall.

We are old enough, we are big kids now.

(TEDDY SINGING: We are big kids, we are big kids, we are big kids now.)

Nan & Pa

A nostalgic lullaby, this song looks to paint with imagery the beautiful environment where Gabriel and Paul grew up in—the Dandenong Ranges of Victoria, Australia. The storybook content is taken from their own childhoods as well as their interactions with their nieces and nephews. The song hopes to give kids a sense of warmth and love that returning home or visiting loved ones gives. It is a calming song perfect for right before bedtime.

Me and my family driving in the car,

We’re off to see my Nan and Pa.

I spy the blue sky through the towering trees,

Won’t be long now, just wait and see.

Up the drive, ring the bell, wipe my feet all clean,

I see Nan and Pa, behind the door screen.

Open arms, great big hug, a kiss on the cheek,

First things first, it’s time for hide and seek.

Deep in the forest, beneath the trees,

Lies a house, so special to me.

Nan and Pa sitting in their rocking chairs,

Telling stories about Aunt Claire.

Snack time, what’ll it be, hoping it’s a treat,

Nan and Pa fill my plate let’s sit down in our seats.

Dog Barks, wants a pat, but it's story time for me,

How about a scary one, let’s snuggle close and read.

Okey doke, stories done, let’s go to the park,

Put on boots, my coat, my hat, ready steady on my mark.

Playtime, on the swing, slipping down the slide,

Off we go with a piggy back ride.

Deep in the forest, beneath the trees,

Lies a house, so special to me.

Nan and Pa sitting in their rocking chairs,

Telling stories about Aunt Claire.

Me and my family, leaving in the car,

Don’t forget to wave goodbye to Nan and Pa.

I spy the setting sun as the city lights grow near,

Close my eyes, pleasant dreams appear,

Close my eyes, pleasant dreams appear.

Rocket Ship to Space

“Rocket Ship to Space” looks to teach kids the order of the planets from the Sun. It also encourages imaginative play and reinforces counting down and up to 10.

10, it’s time to get ready.

9, strap your seatbelts, hold on tight to Teddy. (TEDDY: Grab on)

Yeah, oh yeah, (TEDDY: Oh Yeah) we’re on a rocket ship to space.

8, ignite the afterburners.

7, 6, 5, it’s hotter than a furnace.

4, 3, 2, 1, (TEDDY: Here we go) blast-off to the Moon and beyond.

We’re on a rocket ship to space, (rocket ship to space)

Flying high above the human race. (TEDDY: Faster)

1, we stop off at the Moon.

2, Mercury and Venus for some food.

(TEDDY: Cheese) Yeah, oh yeah,  we’re on a rocket ship to space.

3, here we are at Mars.

4, 5, 6, Jupiter and Saturn not so far.

7, 8, 9, 10, full push to light speed my friend.

We’re on a rocket ship to space, (rocket ship to space)

Flying high above the human race.

We’re on a rocket ship to space, (rocket ship to space)

Flying high above the human race.

(TEDDY: Hold on buddy, Ahhh)

Teddy look, can you see Uranus? (TEDDY: You bet buddy)

No, that’s Neptune, I can’t believe we made it

We’re on a rocket ship to space.

10, 9, 8, 7, 6, 5, 4, Back to Earth, 3, 2, 1 blast-off, here we come!

We’re on a rocket ship to space, (rocket ship to space)

Flying high above the human race

We’re on a rocket ship to space

Rocket ship to space.

Run, Jump, Shout

The name of the game in this song is movement, animal imitation, and fun! The kids will participate throughout, trying to keep up with the rapid changes from animal to animal that ends in one big jump fest. This is all about letting the kids have fun, let off some steam, and go wild with yelling, dance, and movement!

Teddy.

(TEDDY: Yeah Buddy)

I’ve just had the most amazingly fantabulous idea.

(TEDDY: Well that’s a first!)

Are you ready?

(TEDDY:  I guess)

Let’s run like a rabbit,

(TEDDY: Run, I can’t run, I just had three vegan tuny-fish wraps back to back to back)

Sprint like a cheetah.

(TEDDY: Sprint, I can’t sprint.)

Moonwalk like an Ox

Roar like a lion.

Bark like a dog.

Moew like a cat.

Oink like a hog.

We can shout, shout at the top of our lungs,

Shout out loud as you can.

We can shout, shout at the top of our lungs,

Shout out loud just for fun.

Leap like a frog. (TEDDY: I don’t know, I’m still pretty full buddy)

Bounce like a Roo. (Teddy: Like a what, Like a kangaroo, I never seen one of those)

Spring like a Cricket. (TEDDY: Huh? but I don’t think bears are known for their springin’)

How high can you jump? (TEDDY: Pretty High)

Well, come on, let me see!

We can jump high, reach up and touch the sky,

Jump as high as you can (TEDDY: Well I’m trying man)

We can jump high, reach up and touch the sky,

Jump right over the moon.

We can jump high, reach up and touch the sky,

Jump as high as you can.

We can jump high, reach up and touch the sky,

Jump right over the moon.

(TEDDY: Ok, I think I’m ready now)

Shapes

This watch-then-repeat song looks to get the kids moving while creating/drawing shapes that they know in the air. The song uses a square, a love heart, and a star. The song is choreography heavy allowing kids to learn just the three main moves or the whole routine. The song looks to inspire children that even if they don’t have a pen and paper that drawing can be done anywhere/anytime.

It’s time to draw all the shapes we know.

Start with a square, here we go.

It’s got a top, and two sides, and a bottom below.

Top, two sides, and a bottom below.

I love drawing, drawing in the air,

Watch me draw a great big square.

Let’s all draw a great big square.

It’s time to draw all the shapes we know.

How about a love heart here we go. (TEDDY: Let’s go)

Start in the middle, up, around nice and slow.

Up, Around, meet at the bottom below.

I love drawing, making lovely art,

Watch me draw a big love heart.

Let’s all draw a big love heart.

Draw in the air like you just don’t care! (TEDDY: Funky)

Scribble, scribble, wiggle, wiggle, scribble, scribble, wiggle, wiggle.

Draw in the air like you just don’t care! (TEDDY: Funky)

Scribble, scribble, wiggle, wiggle, scribble, scribble, wiggle, wiggle.

Draw in the air like you just don’t care! (TEDDY: Funky, watch a bear get funky)

Scribble, scribble, wiggle, wiggle, scribble, scribble, wiggle, wiggle.

It’s time to draw all the shapes we know.

Let’s try a star, here we go.

Stretch out your arms, and point out your toes. (TEDDY: Are we exercising?)

Stretch out your arms, and point out your toes.

I love drawing, pictures in the car,

Watch me draw a great big star.

I love drawing, making lovely art,

Watch me draw a big love heart.

I love drawing, drawing in the air,

Watch me draw a great big square

Great drawing everybody, what other shapes could we draw? Teddy, any ideas?

(TEDDY: Ahh, well, a triangle)

The three sides of a triangle? No, that’s way too easy.

(TEDDY: Maybe it is for you buddy)

Let’s go three dimensional. How about 12 pentagons combined into a dodecahedron.

(TEDDY: Well what in the heck is that)

Why stop there, how about we try four dimensions and look at the inextricable link between time and space.

(TEDDY: Well, now you’re just showing off buddy.)

Now we’re really drawing

(TEDDY: I think I’m gonna go take a nap)

Stop! Freeze! Go!

“Stop! Freeze! Go!” takes the Kids on an outside adventure to the park, the seaside, and their friends house using a bike, a scooter, and their feet (running) respectively. While the song emulates the excitement of these high octane activities, it reminds kids to always be on the lookout for traffic lights, driveways, roads, and building sites. In these moments we need to Stop, Freeze, and wait for a grown up to “say it’s alright to go.”

When I ride my bike to the Park,

I go so fast, bolt of lightning off the starters mark.

But when I get to a traffic light, a driveway, a road, a building site.

I stop, and I freeze, and I look left and right,

I wait for a grown-up to say it's alright to go.

Here we go!

Stop! Freeze! Go!

When I take my scooter to the seaside,

I zig and zig, glide smoothly, just a great ride. (TEDDY: Let’s go)

But when I get to a traffic light, a driveway, a road, a building site.

I stop and I freeze and I look left and right,

I wait for a grown-up to say it’s alright to go.

Here we go!

Wahhh quick, race around, do a spin, flip upside down.

Stop! Freeze! Go!

When I run on the footpath to my friend’s place,

You could try, but you’ll never win this race.

But when I get to a traffic light, a driveway, a road, a building site.

I stop and I freeze and I look left and right,

(TEDDY: Well we stop, then we freeze, then we look both ways)

I wait for a grown-up to say it’s alright to go.

Here we go!

Wahhh quick, race around, do a spin, flip upside down.

Stop! Here we go.

Go crazy, keep your feet from touching the ground.

Freeze!

Superstar

“Superstar” seeks to explain to kids that it is not how you look but how you act that makes you a superstar. It introduces the key concepts of compassion, manners, and good behaviors with a healthy dose of humor thrown in.

What do you see when you look at me?

Do you see my sparkling, sequined coat, very chic.

Or do you know I have more to show,

More than my sparkly coat, my shades, my hat, my flow.

I’m a Superstar,

’Cos at school I keep my cool.

I’m a Superstar,

I pack up my toys at night.

I use the toilet to pee, (TEDDY: Me too)

I care, I share, that’s me.

I’m a Superstar.

(TEDDY: You sure are buddy, you’re my Superstar!)

Now you see that there’s more to me.

More than my purple polka dot pants and the shoes on my feet. (TEDDY: Purple’s my favorite color)

Now you know it’s what lies beneath.

It’s how you act, that’s a fact, can’t you see.

I’m a superstar,

I wait my turn in line.

I’m a superstar,

I go to bed on time.

I always say please, (Teddy: Me too)

I care, I share, that’s me.

I’m a Superstar.

Do you help out your friends, when they’re having a bad day at school?

Do you always try to listen, and follow the rules?

It’s really quite simple, just be nice, friendly, and kind. (TEDDY: that’s what mamma bear always says)

That’s how Superstars come alive and shine.

(TEDDY: Yeah, you’re a superstar!)

I’m a Superstar,

’Cos at school I keep my cool.

I’m a Superstar,

I pack up my toys at night. (TEDDY: Right On)

I use the toilet to pee, (TEDDY: Yippee)

I care, I share, that’s me.

I’m a Superstar.

You see, it's not hard. (TEDDY: You’re right) Who wants to go out and be a Superstar

Give someone a hug  give,

Hold someone's hand,

Draw a picture, and give it to someone you love

Tickle Monster

“Tickle Monster” is a fun imagination song with three build ups to a chase around the house. It also acts to remove the “scary” stigma of monsters, spiders, and giants by showing their silly side. This is a great parent/teacher participation song so the child has someone actually chasing them in the choruses. By incorporating a build up it creates good control of creeping around and listening before each energy release of the full blown chase.

I hear a noise from behind the door,

A ghastly groaning giggle, a thump on the floor.

The scariest shadow that I ever saw,

Lurking there, down the corridor.

It’s a long and lanky, notoriously crankety, tricksy wicksy:

Tickle monster!

The tickle monster, it is coming for you.

Chasing you around the house to tickle you till your blue.

The tickle monster will catch you in it’s trap,

You better run you better hide, but don’t wake up the cat.

I hear a tapping on the window pane,

A wickedly woven web sways slowly in the rain.

The tip-tap-tapping is driving me insane,

Eight hairy legs, yellow eyes, here we go again.

A spindly windly, with long legs dingling, chillingly creepy:

Spider!

The scary spider, it is coming for you.

Chasing you around the house to tickle you till your blue.

The scary spider will catch you in it’s web.

You better run you better hide, oh no, it’s just Ted.

(TEDDY: Hey buddy)

Fe fi fo fum, I smell the blood of an Englishman,

It’s 5 o’clock, time for dinner.

A tremendous towering, mountainous monstrosity,

Stupendously ravenous beast with rotten teeth,

A cheeky-weeky, mischievously sneaky:

Super naughty giant!

The naughty giant, it is coming for you,

Chasing you around the house to tickle you till your blue.

The naughty giant wants to gobble you up,

You better run you better hide, but watch out for those ducks.

Tippy Toe Walk

“Tippy Toe Walk” is perfect if a child still has energy but needs to start winding down for bedtime, a nap, or a meal. The tippy toe action allows the child to creep around their own space but keep control and start to focus in on the lyrics to make sure they start to whisper and don’t miss out on any of the obstacles—a lamp and Rover the dog.

Well this is a song about sneaking around.

We gotta keep real quiet and not make a sound.

We’re gonna walk on our toes,

Step softly and slow.

Sneak around the house,

Let’s tippy tippy toe.

Let’s do the tippy toe walk, sneaking around.

Let’s do the tippy toe walk, don’t make a sound.

Well this is a song about sneaking around.

We gotta keep real quiet and not make a sound.

We’re gonna keep our voice down,

Whisper soft and low.

Put your finger to your lips,

While we tippy tippy toe.

Let’s do the tippy toe walk, whisper low

Let’s do the tippy toe walk, walk on our toes.

Well this is a song about sneaking around.

We gotta keep real quiet and not make a sound.

Watch out for that lamp,

Don’t bump it over.

Watch out for that dog,

Don’t step on poor Rover!

Let’s do the tippy toe walk, whisper low .

Let’s do the tippy toe walk, step soft and low.

Let’s do the tippy toe walk, don’t bump that lamp over!

Let’s do the tippy toe walk, don’t step on poor rover!

Walk Through the Woods

“Walk Through the Woods” gets kids excited to meet three Australian animals while taking an “imagination” walk. It is an action based song looking to get the listener to watch and listen, then repeat. The actions include laughing, jumping, and flapping wings.

I’m going on a walk through the woods.

Come along, I’ll lead the way.

Look there, a Kookaburra sitting on that tree stump.

Let’s wave hello and say “g’day.”

Hey, how are ya Kookaburra, will you join us?

Walking through the woods, what do you say?

“That sounds like fun, I’d love to come, it’s a yes. ok.”

“Let’s have a laugh along the way.”

Ok, Why Not!

We’re going on a walk through the woods,

Having a laugh along the way.

Look quick, a Kangaroo, lunching on the grass there.

Let’s wave hello and say “g’day.”

Miss Kangaroo, How are you, will you join us?

Walking through the woods, what do you say?

“That sounds like fun, I’d love to come, it’s a yes, ok.”

“Let’s bounce along the way”.

Well sure, I love to bounce.

What was that sound, screeching loud, above the ground.

What could it be?

Way up there, with flapping wings, and yellow hair.

It’s our friend Miss Cockatoo.

How d’ya do miss Cockatoo, will you join us?

Walking through the woods, what do you say?

“That sounds like fun, I’d love to come, it’s a yes, ok.”

“let’s flap our wings along the way.”

Ok, flap your wings with one another,

Just like our friend Miss Cockatoo.

Don’t forget to laugh like Kookaburra,

Bounce up and down like Kangaroo.

Laugh Like a kookaburra,

Bounce like a kangaroo,

Flap your wings together,

Just like miss cockatoo.
