GubbaRoo has been a grassroots project from the beginning and it wouldn’t have been possible without the incredible help and hard work of the team behind the scenes.
After writing an initial batch of songs, Gabriel and Paul were able to record several demos with Logan Thomas, who volunteered his time and studio to get the songs ready to shop around. After hearing the demos, producer Zachary McMillan of Beige Records came on board and facilitated recording the album with an incredible group of session musicians at The Hideaway Studios in Minneapolis.
From there it has been a whole lot of thrifting, building, and painting to get everything ready to start releasing the videos. A huge thanks to Emily, Matilda, Alie, and Doug for their help in getting the first video ready for release.
For access to his workshop and tools (not to mention a second pair of hands) and her seamstress wizardry, we would also like to thank John and Janice Day.
Finally, a special shoutout to Mathew Doherty for his film expertise in answering our many questions even though he was on the other side of the world back home in Australia!

Gabriel and Paul have been friends since they can remember and first started writing and recording music (generous to call it music) at the young age of 4 and 5. Their musical journeys have diverged and rejoined many times over the years and they are both so excited to be releasing their most exciting project yet.

Gabriel and Paul have been friends since they can remember and first started writing and recording music (generous to call it music) at the young age of 4 and 5. Their musical journeys have diverged and rejoined many times over the years and they are both so excited to be releasing their most exciting project yet.
A huge thanks is owed to their families who have always believed in their dreams and encouraged them to pursue their passion in music. Parents Chris and Ray (Paul) and John and Lyn (Gabriel) have been ardent supporters of the duo and gave the pair incredible childhoods growing up in the beautiful Dandenong Ranges of Victoria, Australia, facilitating their love for music by getting them to rehearsals, shows, and everything in between. Thanks also to their siblings Michael and partner Jane (Paul) and Tess and partner Charles (Gabriel) who tolerated loud practices and their younger siblings shenanigans throughout their childhood. To their nieces and nephews Noa, Jem, Raff (Paul), Calvin, Theo, Julianna, and Maia (Gabriel), a huge thank you for inspiring your Uncle’s to go down the this magical rabbit hole and find their true calling in music and entertainment.
To Paul’s partner Matilda, and Gabriel’s partner Emily a huge thank you of all for your help, love, and support in bringing this tiny spark of an idea into the project it is today! Finally, for the immanent arrival of Paul and Matilda’s first child, we are so excited to see the GubbaRoo family grow!
